CLASSES FOR ADULTS
SPRING 2008

Registration begins
Tuesday, March 25.
Call 860-868-2878 to register.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING!

HazMat/ Greening of Washington Art Assoc. proposals:

In these environmentally conscious times we ask that you take personal responsibility for the products you use and be aware of any toxic materials you leave behind in the studio.
The Washington Art Association must hold all the empty containers, cap the half empty/open containers and then wait for community sponsored days when these hazardous materials can be safely discarded.
We therefore strongly suggest that you now clean your brushes at home using non-toxic, biodegradable products. We will supply product information on environmentally safe brush cleaners and painting mediums (Turpenoid is not as non-toxic as you may think) as well as make available a listing of the Hazmat days per community so that any toxic materials can be recycled properly and safely.

If we all do this together, no recycling/holding fees need be added to the cost of classes in the spring semester and beyond.

And please: wherever you clean your brushes, consider that what we pour down our drains we ultimately end up drinking as it gets re-filtered through the land. And just as surely, the critters farther down the food chain get to partake of this toxic soup too.

Please note: on Saturday April 5, 2008 we will hold our first annual spring cleaning from 3-5pm. This is primarily for the studio & pottery rooms.
Kindly mark your calendars
